Anathema – Electricity

A bit more mellow than our recent picks, but that doesn’t make this song any less powerful. Anathema were originally a pioneer of the doom metal genre, which was enough to make me raise an eyebrow when I heard their latest album. The band has dropped it’s original beginnings and now are, as Wikipedia describes, “an atmospheric rock band”. Their label disbanded after their album in 2004, and now they’re trying to sign (again) with a new label to release a new album, which they have already written. Electricity is a chilling, emotional piece that I hope you’ll enjoy.
