Time to knock it up several notches for some high-octane, upbeat and explosive music from Japanese electronica/rock duo, “Boom Boom Satellites”. A mix of big beats and heavy hitting guitars, the music is incredibly loud and punky – ready to help you forget today is Monday. Their seventh and latest album, from which today’s track is taken from, was released in 2007, is called “Exposed” and also features a track “Shut up and Explode” used as the opening theme tune to a new anime series Xam’D: Lost Memories – also, in fitting with an ongoing theme explosive and loud. Last month we had Used For Glue’s Light it Up, and the month before that, Sweet Return by Cardia – where’s this going? Well, before Ian Love left Walter Schreifels’ band “Rival Schools”, they put out a song called “Used For Glue”. It all comes back to basics, and since I promised some time ago that Rival Schools would get their much-deserved mention, right now was as good a time as any! The band was (until Love’s departure eventually fractured the band) a post-hardcore supergroup of sorts – with members coming from a plethora of already recognised bands.
