The Format - Tie The Rope

The Format, a powerpop/indie rock band from Arizona, US have been around since 2001 and pumped out two albums so far. It’s not all been easy sailing for them, with their labels closing behind them and limited releases, but still their music is so positively upbeat, they’re obviously not bitter. My favourite album is the first, “Interventions + Lullabies” (although the second “Dog Problems” is still good) because it just seems so fun and jumpy and gets me in a really good mood. The vocals have a distinct, lovable edge, and blend nicely with the guitars and the many, many other instruments they often choose to use. Take a listen, and hopefully enjoy, “Tie the Rope”:
